Welcome to Aikido Kenkyukai Orange

We have classes for juniors, youth and adults. Click here for more information.

How to Get Started

You’re welcome to join us on the mat at anytime, but please check the ‘Getting Started’ page for useful information that will help you get the most out of your training.

What to Expect

To help you know what to expect, Aikido can be described as a ‘non-competitive martial art that promotes physical and mental flexibility ... a dynamic form of self defence that emphasises harmony and cooperation rather than aggression’.

Where to Find Us

We train in the Uniting Church Hall in Anson Street near the corner of Summer. Entry is via the rear door.

We are pleased to announce that Mike McGregor Sensei (affectionately known as Big Mike) will be guest instructor at our Training Intensive on Saturday May 19th. This is a great opportunity to experience Big Mike’s strong and centred Aikido, as well as his clear but thought-provoking instruction. The program will run from 9am to 3pm starting with a weapons class at 9am and incorporating a one hour lunch break around 12.30pm. Further details will be available closer to the day.

School Holiday Arrangements
Posted: 5 April 2012
Classes for Juniors and Youth are now in recess until after the school holidays. Classes for adults continue as per the normal schedule. We look forward to a great second quarter of the year with lots of inspiration from Bill Gleason Sensei who is leading the Easter Training Seminar in Canberra, a Training Intensive on 19 May led by a guest instructor, and plans for a beginners course in May or June. Stay safe and have a great Easter until we see you next!.
